American architect Daniel Burnham designed Baguio City in the early 1900s for a projected population of only 25,000. The city's current population stands at 360,000 permanent residents.

Transient population, plus tourists, swells it up to close to 2-million during peak seasons.
wow ... so scary

Yes, but mountain people are mountain people. They love the peaks, the window views and the slope perspectives. They are used to landslides...he-he-he-he !

I think it is scary to live there in Baguio.
It's overpopulated................
May God Bless the inhabitants in Baguio City.

Cool pictures! I especially like that foggy Buddhist temple. Mukhang the driver of the car didn't park properly because the fog affected his/her vision.... I do miss the fog like most commenters :-)

I consider foggy Baguio days as the best time to be in Baguio. There's something very edifying about Baguio being visited by the fog. The mist makes Baguio mystical, magical.

Hi Bernie. The lagoon is at the right side of the new CJH Suites beside the Manor.

It is also accessible from the Baguio Country Club gate, right past the Italian Garden, taking the inner road to the left. Usually, when the Koreans (yes, the new invaders) are busy golfing, the security guards won't allow anyone in the area.

But we usually go there quietly so those guards won't notice us. This fairway affords one a great view of the Sto. Tomas mountains in the distance.

The grand street parade is usually staged every 3rd weekend of February, with Saturday allotted for street dancing an Sunday for float parade. Afterwards, Session Road is closed to traffic for the promenade fiesta for another week.

I usually recommend the Sta Catalina Spirituality Center with clean room and hot shower @ P300 per head. You can also get a family cottage (with up to 3 bedrooms for 6-9 people if you want to cook) @ P2000 to P2,500 per day.

They have a curfew though at 9pm, but you can ask the guard to open the gate for you if you'd tell them in advance that you'll be late.

Best to reserve because of great demand, tel. 074-442-4739.

Would all that water used for the fairways get compensated for when my idol Tiger Woods gets to strike a birdie here?

That's quite precise, well, for the so-called Mines View Park which has been delisted from tourist spots by the DOT. But then, old habits die slowly. Tourists, esp those with unupdated maps and guides, still flock to this same destination..
